Mendelssohn’s C minor Piano Trio took a little while to settle, with the opening movement sounding slightly breathless. But the slow-movement duet between the two strings was ardent indeed. Batiashvili then set up a tremendous pace at the start of the airborne scherzo, her colleagues reacting with glee, culminating in a fantastically insouciant sign-off.
