This June, Lisa Batiashvili joins mandolin player Avi Avital, cellist Kian Soltani and pianist José Gallardo for a chamber music concert on June 1 at the Bürgenstock Kapelle, where they perform pieces by Beethoven, Calace, Schubert, Chopin, Bartók and Mendelssohn. Clarinetist Andreas Ottensamer joins them on June 2 at the Matthäuskirche in Lucerne, for a program of Ravel, Bartók, de Falla, Juon and Mendelssohn.
She then travels to Ingolstadt to play in the Audi Summer Concerts. On July 2, she shares the stage with cellist Gautier Capuçon and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet. The audience will enjoy three trios by Shostakovich, Mendelssohn and Ravel. On July 5, she stars as the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, with Paavo Järvi leading the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. The program also includes Schumann’s Overture to the opera Genoveva and his Symphony No. 2.
Her last three performances of the summer are on July 28 at the State Stud Redefin, on July 31 at the BBC Proms in London and on August 4 at the Salzburger Festspiele. For this tour, conductors Susanna Mälkki and Yannick Nézet-Séguin share the podium, with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks under their baton. Ms. Batiashvili performs Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, with Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1 preceding it in the program and Richard Strauss’s Suite from Der Rosenkavalier afterwards.
